Local Catholic Daughter Group Supports Reading atNorth Avenue Intermediate School Members of the local Catholic Daughter Group donated a $50.00 to the North Avenue Intermediate Library and then participated in “Read Across America” at the campus on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Students spent much of their day reading in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Members of the group joined students and teachers in class and read stories by Dr. Seuss aloud to the students throughout the day. It was a super day of reading and sharing of great literature. Ms. Fryer, principal of school and Mrs. Henry, librarian accept the donation to the library from Suzanne Benes, Liz Christian, and Sandra Brown, (school counselor) members of the local Catholic Daughter group. |

FEBRUARY SUPER CITIZENS of North Avenue Intermediate
Citizenship is something that should be honored, recognized, and given status. It has nothing to do with academic achievement and anyone can achieve it. The essence of good citizenship is respect-respect for authority, respect for others, respect for self and respect for rules. It is an attitude that begins at home and is reinforced at school and applied throughout life. We are pleased to announce that 18 students have been chosen for this special honor. The students chosen for the month of November are: Amy Zuniga, Carlos Salazar Jr., Cesar Zuniga, Debra Washichek, Isela Gonzalez, Jesus Diaz, Joe Pena, Johnathon Hidalgo, Joshua Padilla, Karina Gonzalez, Kassandra Gallegos, McKenzie Caldwell, Rosa Govea, Samantha Fussner, Tesha Landry, Victor Llamas, and Zachery Zella. These students received gift certificates from Sonic, Whataburger, and Tropical Snow. |
