Welcome to the Gonzales Independent School District Curriculum Department.

I am Ronald D. Bragg the Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. I possess twenty-three years of high-school teaching and administrative experience. I taught Technology Education for 11 years, was a director of technology for 2 years, and a high school principal for 10 years. I am currently in my first year as a secondary curriculum director.

I graduated from “The” Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts Education in 1984.  I earned a Master of Education degree from the University of North Texas in Denton in 1989.

The Gonzales Independent School District faculty and staff are committed to fulfilling the mission of preparing all students to become lifelong learners who are productive, responsible and participating members of society. Our staff of educators is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this mission. We will use the most current research and incorporate the best instructional practices to help our students. We will ask ourselves in this continuous improvement process, four basic questions:

  1. What is it that we want all students to learn?
  2. How will we know when each student has learned the information?
  3. What will we do differently when a student does not learn?
  4. What will we do for students who already know the information?

As educators, we will work together in professional learning communities, modeling lifelong learning and continuously helping students to be successful.

If you have any curriculum or instruction questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I have an open door policy at my office so feel free to stop by.

Have a GREAT Apache Day!

'We imagine a school in which students and teachers excitedly and joyfully stretch themselves to their limits in pursuit of projects built on their vision...not one that succeeds in making apathetic students satisfying minimal standards.'

S Papert

'Some people think you are strong when you hold on. Others think it is when you let go'.

Sylvia Robinson

'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.'

'What the best and wisest parent wants for his own child, that must the community want for all its children. Any other ideal for our schools is narrow and unlovely; acted upon it destroys our democracy.'

John Dewey
