My name is Steven Gonzales. I am 42 years old, married and have 3 wonderful kids; Whitley 17, Hunter 11 and Noah 9. I was born and raised in Gonzales and come from a warm and loving close knit family.
I am a hard worker both physically and mentally. I don’t back down from a challenge. I am considered a clown. I love to make people laugh, even at my own expense. My philosophy is to enjoy the time we have on this earth – make the most of it – be serious when necessary, but enjoy yourself.
My hobbies are barbecuing, hunting, fishing, camping (basically anything outdoors) and baking/cooking. I love nature and enjoy teaching my children to respect all creatures and taking care of the land and respect for other people’s property. Through my actions and words, I also teach my kids to help others in need. I enjoy exercising, running, biking to stay in shape and for my general well-being. Therefore, when the opportunity arose to assist the gym teacher, I had to jump at the opportunity.
Because of my love for kids and wanting to make a difference in their lives, I have coached T-ball, pee-wee baseball and am currently assisting with Boy Scouts. Also because of wanting to help kids, I chose to make a career change by going back to college to earn my Teacher’s Certificate. I have worked as a substitute teacher and that experience gave me a feel for what it would be like to be in an educational environment. Since I substituted at all grade levels, it also gave me an insight as to what age group I would like to teach once I am certified as a Teacher.
