The Gonzales ISD Education Foundation awarded $26,619.97 to local teachers at a banquet held in their honor. In the second year of these awards, teachers requested the opportunity to do innovative research based classroom projects that would potentially benefit students at every campus. We are very thankful for the wonderful support of a caring community and a hardworking education foundation.

Dear Gonzales ISD School and Community Family,
Thank you to the Gonzales ISD community! We are so thrilled and excited to have the positive response relative to the November 5th, 2013 GISD Bond Election. When presented with information regarding the bond proposals, it was ultimately your decision. Thank you to all who supported this opportunity for your school district to provide for learning environments that reflect adequate space, necessary expansions and upgrades and facilities conducive to quality instructional processes. A special thank you to the Gonzales Citizens for Quality Education for the time and efforts in getting the information out to the community, signage support and promotion of the continuous improvement efforts of GISD!
Now that the bond has been passed there are specific processes to begin in getting construction underway. At this early time we have begun with the canvassing of the votes by the GISD School Board of Trustees on November 13, 2013. Now that votes have been canvassed there is a required 30 day wait period. Therefore, the first bonds cannot be sold until after the first of the January 2014. Additionally, the preliminary work to be done prior to ground breaking may require up to a year. The hiring of underwriters, financial details of the bond sell, architectural drawings of the specific projects, and contractor recruitment are some of the biggest part of preliminary preceding construction.Read more...
Thank you voters! Proposition 1 and Proposition 2 were passed during the election on November 5, 2013. Updated information will be posted as we move forward in implementing these propositions.
